ABOUT KSMSCL
Introduction
State Government in 2002 formed the ‘Karnataka State Drugs Logistics and Warehousing Society’ for adequate supplies of medicine and to improve the distribution to patients by bringing centralized procurement and distribution of medicines, chemicals and medical equipment. The Karnataka State Drugs Logistics and Warehousing Society aims to ensure that health facility at all levels have adequate medicines at Primary Health Center, Primary Sub Center, Community Health Centers, Taluk General Hospitals, District Hospitals and other health centers.
Conversion of Society into Corporation
In the Budget Speech of 2019-20, it was proposed to convert the Karnataka State Drug Logistics Warehousing Society into a “Corporation” under provisions of The Companies Act, 2013. Government Order No. HFW 76 FPR 2019 Bengaluru, dated 21-10-2020 The “Karnataka State Medical Supplies Corporation Limited” has been registered under Companies Act, 2013, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India.
Objectives
Objective of the KSMSCL is to establish a dynamic organization structure by transforming KSDLWS into a corporation and provide better governance for effective buying and supply chain operations. KSMSCL helps to have clear Autonomy, Transparency and Management control in the decision-making process.
KSMSCL aims to ensure timely procurement and supplies to health facilities at various levels like Primary Health Center, Primary Health Unit, Community Health Centers, Taluk General Hospitals and other Public Health Institutions. KSMSCL will help in procurement and maintenance of proper supply chain to improve the existing system.
The Identity No. of the Company is U85100KA2020 SGC140139. All capital funds and assets of Karnataka State Drugs Logistics and Warehousing Society is transferred to Karnataka State Medical Supplies Corporation Limited.
